About Bert Smit
Bert Ronald Smit has been the Chief Executive Officer for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency – United Kingdom since January 2006. Born and raised in the Netherlands, Smit has been living and working extensively in a European and global context for more than 20 years. Although originally theologically trained, he holds a second MA in Mass Communication from Leicester University. For fifteen years Smit worked in international broadcasting at management level. In addition, he had been involved with international audience research for more than a decade. His management and communication skills are now benefiting ADRA-UK as it continues to widen its funding base to support its growth and support of multiple development and relief projects across the globe.

Mr Smit is married with two adult children. He is an avid photographer, enjoys mountain biking, hiking and technology."
