Baptism at York
12th April 2018
The York Seventh-day Adventist church had the privilege of opening up its baptistery to three candidates. One lady and two gentlemen.
The service was conducted by local minister Pastor John Francis, who spoke on the topic 'Follow Me' based on Mark 2:13-17 and stressed the importance of accepting Christ's call on one's life. He also emphasised what it means to follow God's call in obeying His word and representing Him in our witness to others.
The conversions and subsequent baptism was borne from the impact and ministry of 3ABN which continues to bear fruit in York. Last year we had the baptism of two sisters who were introduced to the Church as a result of watching 3ABN.
And yet again on Sabbath 24 March, 2018 we celebrated as Cynthia Lee-Charlton became the third person to be baptised at York church through the 3ABN ministry.
Following her into the pool were two young men who grew up in Adventist families. Both share the same birthday and testimonies of miraculous interventions in their lives. Philip Malinga was born with serious health issues and not expected to live beyond his second birthday. It was a joy for his family, friends and the church community to see him baptised at age 23. Malindi Moonga survived a fall from an upstairs window when he was 6. His parents praise God that he only sustained broken bones and they have seen him grow up to commit his life to Christ before starting university this year.
Please continue to pray for the work in this part of the vineyard, that God will continue to work mightily in this area and our churches may grow.
